The spec
This system evaluates university syllabi and automatically maps transfer credits between academic institutions. It parses course descriptions, learning objectives, reading lists, and grading rubrics directly from uploaded academic documents. The engine aligns these extracted requirements against the receiving institution's degree pathways, generating equivalent credit decisions.
University registrars and transfer admission teams rely on the platform to clear backlogs of unarticulated transfer credits. Currently, assessing out-of-network courses forces faculty and staff to manually read hundreds of syllabi, delaying student enrollment and financial aid packaging. By fully automating syllabus evaluation, the software eliminates the manual review bottleneck and delivers immediate credit articulation to incoming students.
Unlike legacy Student Information System workflows or database repositories like CollegeSource TES that still require manual syllabus matching, this approach executes zero-human-in-the-loop evaluation. The architecture bypasses basic title-matching by structurally comparing course rigor and specific learning outcomes. Combined with an outcome-priced model, institutions only incur costs for successfully articulated credits rather than paying for static software licenses.
